National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October. NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates about the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents. This year’s theme is “America’s Workforce: Empowering All.”
To celebrate NDEAM Biddle is partnering with Sheridan Walker, founder and president of HirePotential, Inc., on a webinar October 25th titled Smart Solutions for the Accommodations Process.
With the focus on recruiting and hiring individuals with disabilities both OFCCP and EEOC are looking at accommodations. Now, one of the top three violations is directly related to disability and accommodations. This session will provide the current barriers and provide an action plan to resolve the gaps in the accommodation process. We will describe the difference between accessibility and accommodations in the recruiting process and provide best practices and implementation.
The participants in this webinar will be provided with recommendations on how to address accessibility vs. accommodation, stakeholders who need to be involved, and how to establish a proactive model. The goal for this presentation is to provide practical tools to implement ideas and suggestions derived from the presentation. We will highlight the most common assistive technologies and offer practical information that can be implemented immediately.
